Funders and Supporters

Modern Farmer was established in 2013 as a for-profit print publication, funded by Canadian financier and philanthropist Frank Giustra. In 2022, we transitioned to a non-profit model and secured a relationship with Acceso Impact, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, to provide fiscal sponsorship and operational support.

As a non-profit, our work is made possible by the generous support of our donors. We make public all funding sources totaling $5,000 or more. We maintain a strict firewall between our funders and our editorial team. We do not give funders the right to review our content, nor do funders influence our editorial decisions.
