While it may seem as if most of Boston’s rooftops are solely reserved for illegal barbecuing and debauchery in the summer months, one roof and two environmental scientists with deep roots in the food industry are aiming to change all that. This spring will see the unveiling of the city’s very first rooftop farm, Higher Ground, spanning 55,000 square feet atop the Boston Design Center.
