Bill Marler doesn’t mess around with food safety. Marler, a popular lawyer specializing in foodborne illness, suggests you avoid raw oysters and order your meat well-done… or else. The Washington Post got him talking about high-profile food outbreaks, and how the problem isn’t just Chipotle or Jack in the Box. It’s the whole damn system.

Speaking of Chipotle, their E Coli outbreak has been attributed to contaminated Australian beef, according to the Wall Street Journal via Eater. Not just beef, but improper food practices as well. The outbreak is over and we can all go back to eating burrito bowls.

A goat has become the most sought-after runaway in Coralville, Iowa, after it escaped from the University of Iowa Research Park a week ago. Reported goat sightings and near run-ins haven’t quite cornered the escapee, but he continues to taunt local police with funny tweets.

Lastly, check out CNN’s coverage on four cool ag start-ups spearheaded by African women. Women reportedly own less than one percent of the land in sub-Saharan Africa, but represent seven out of every 10 agricultural workers. The four separate projects include an educational poultry farm, a dried fruit company, a mobile app, and a business bringing African produce to European markets. These women, for sure, are our favorite type of BAMF – badass modern farmers.
