Video: Is This a “Miracle” Lamb?

A farmer in Saudi Arabia says his "miracle" lamb has the Prophet Mohammed's name written in Arabic on its side. He turned down an offer for $400,000 for the animal.

Mohammed bin Yehya Al Addawi, a farmer in the village of Jizan, says his black and white “miracle” lamb has the prophet’s name written in Arabic letters on its fleece.

United Press International reports the farmer was offered $400,000 for the lamb, but he turned the money down.

“As you see, my sheep has the name Mohammed on its side in very clear letters…many people come to see it and all of them admire the way the word is written,” Al Addawi was quoted saying by the Sada newspaper.

Back in 2007, an Indian goat named Badshah did the lamb one better by having several Arabic words of Islamic importance on its body, including the words “Mecca,” “Mohammed,” and “Allah,” according to its owner, Faiz Mohammed. At the time he was trying to sell the animal for close to $900,000. No news on whether the owner got his asking price.

Scientists call the phenomenon of visual stimuli appearing to resemble an unrelated object or person “face pareidolia” – but for the faithful, it’s a miracle, not a mirage.
